Getting to know all about you

This week was all about portraits, so I experimented with different framing, lighting, and distance. The first three pictures are new and the last two are older shots that I took while in New York and still enjoy. I hope you will as well.

My husband, the first time he came to visit me in New York shortly after we started dating.
This was just some random girl I saw on the subway back in 2005, but her expression while sitting in front of this add was priceless, so I had to sneak a picture with my cell phone.

  1. I think the light in the second image is great - it creates great contrast between the subject and background. I'm not sure why but I feel like the photo is in a prison or interrogation room because of the lighting. It's a great shot.

I also like the first photo because of how the subject blends into the background - totally opposite of the second. This reminds me of those famous Bob Marley shots and I think it's well balanced.

  2. great photos, I like the first one because of the lighting. The darker almost black and white are intriguing because in editing the process can be so much to do in your own work.
I am looking forward to shooting a wedding on the 24th in nothing but black and white.

  3. I love the tattoo shot, in fact I love that tattoo. The lighting on it is great especially the way it trails off on the face and blends into black as it goes to the background. The ad and the woman is great too, random moments like that are priceless to be sure.
